Preston is keeping tight-lipped about his relationship with Chantelle Houghton but has admitted he is a happy man.

The Ordinary Boys star was at the NME awards to present a gong but his new Essex born girlfriend was nowhere to be seen.

Preston revealed he wants to be in the papers for his music not his love life.

He said: "I'm going to do everything I can to make it (his relationship with Chantelle) not public property. I think that can only hinder it."

The singer admitted that at first he was worried what people in the music industry would think of his Big Brother appearance: "It's so bizarre coming back after having done that and everyone just being so happy for me.

"I must admit I was a bit wary of people being a bit sort of... But everyone understands why I did it so it's brilliant."

So did he enjoy life in the BB house?

"There were no cons really, I just had a really good time. I'm now number three in the charts for the third week running, presenting an award here and seeing all my old mates.

"It's all good. Everything's good. I'm happy."
