I think he quite blatantly engineered the argument, and he made his intentions pretty clear in the diary room. He was clearly p'd off about having to wear the costume, and kicked off on Charley to release his frustrations. I think he's a bit of a joke, to be honest. He's one person in the diary room, yet someone else entirely in front of the other hm's. He doesn't merit comparisons with The Usual Suspects, but Special Officer Doofy is rather apt. All of his bluster in the diary room came to nothing anyway, because she walked away from him yet still left him looking rather pathetic. And then sitting back to let Gerry try to finish off what he wasn't capable of doing himself? Please. When Charley starts an argument, then in the main she deserves all that she gets. But that was nothing more than blatant bullying, whether he failed miserably or not. He used Charley as a pawn to try and ingratiate himself with the other hm's, and that's nothing more than the act of a coward.

You could be right but not a coward instead a game player.
Takes on Charley to make himself popular with the other housemates and maybe aviod being nominated as a reward......
