I don't think he said anything of note in the whole speech.
No wonder most walked away, had he said he was wrong to even just tolerate the word abuse as to gay adoption, that would have been a start.
I agree with you, he was just saying the same with no retractions or even any great understanding as to others feelings.
In fact it came across more like he was attempting justifying the way and what he had said in the quote.
