Endemol Shine UK has made further tweaks to the Big Brother production team ahead of the new 2016 series, including the addition of a new executive producer.
Rebecca Kenny-Smith – whose credits include Masterchef and The Apprentice – will be one of three executive producers this summer, having previously been Big Brother’s series editor.
She is joined by former The Only Way Is Essex boss Andrew Jackman and Caroline Davies, who was an exec prod on last year’s ‘Timebomb’ and ‘UK vs. USA’ editions. Davies was also the voice of Iris, the Control Room interface from ‘Power Trip’ in 2014.
Shannon Delwiche, who oversaw January’s Celebrity series alongside Jackman, will not be back.
Meanwhile, Susy Price is no longer a co-creative director, leaving Katy Manley as the sole creative director for the latest run. The duo had replaced Denis O’Connor after he departed Endemol in September.
The latest shuffle comes after Mirella Breda replaced Nick Samwell-Smith as managing director of Initial, the Endemol firm that makes Big Brother. Samwell-Smith acted as Big Brother’s showrunner after it moved to Channel 5 in 2011, but it is unclear whether Breda has assumed his duties.
This morning Channel 5 teased that the new housemates will battle an unseen “dark force” that will leave them paranoid and suspicious. BB is set to launch in the week commencing Saturday 4th June, despite questions over construction of the new house extension.

This new Executive Producer sounds good, but I'm slightly unsure of Katy Manley staying as creative director. She did join the team at the start of Secrets and Lies though, so who knows.
