Actually if you drop a series of stargates in the empty space between the two galaxies and hack them to forward the buffered information from one to the next without exiting the network (except at the midway point where you need to leave the Milky Way network and join the other galaxy's network, you have to exit into a little space station for a couple of minutes then) you can do it in like 10 mins.
