Default Dupin\'s Big Brother 9 [a work in progress] [houseplan/kitchen and bedroom pictures up]

As we have a long time until Big Brother 9, I'm working on my own Big Brother 9 - over the next few weeks, months, whatever, I will try and create every thing to do with it.

First, I'm working on the house, using PhotoFiltre and Sketchup. My skills on both aren't fantastic, so you'll have to excuse me. The house on Sketchup is far from complete, but I'll post some early pictures of it anyway, mostly of the garden.

Here is the original houseplan, with a key as to what the numbers mean:

1 – Stairs. The stairs are wider, and the whole room a shade of pink that is very bright. Some of the walls are slightly crooked, much like the entrance to BB5. At the end of the stairs, there is a door that on one side says “WELCOME TO THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE”. On the other side is “YOU ARE NOW LEAVING THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE”.

2 – Extra corridor. After walking down the stairs, and going through the door, the housemates walk through a very brief corridor to get to the main house. The corridor uses the same colour scheme and ideas as the stairs.

3 – The main living area of the house. The floor is yellow with distinctive thin pink lines. There is an empty area when you first enter the house, where housemates will socialize on launch night and where tasks can easily be set up.

4 – The dining table. The dining table is a bold red, and is fairly long and sturdy. It has white benches on three of the sides – the table can sit 12 housemates on this benches.

5 – The living area. Composed of bright blue and green colours, the sofas nearly make out a square – the sofas themselves are big and comfortable, although not easy on the eye. A plasma screen is at the lower wall.

6 – This is a toilet that can be accessed from the living area.

7 – This is the corridor that leads to the diary room – it is plain white, and like in Big Brother 8, the door is glass, so the corridor can be seen from the rest of the house.

8 – The diary room. The chair/layout of the diary room has not yet been decided.

9 – The bathroom. The bathroom has mild colours compared to the rest of the house, and contains a sofa, a blue glass shower, a bath, and a urinal.

10 – This is the bedroom – once again, it is filled with bright colours. A massive custom-made bed is running down one side, able to hold seven housemates. There are also two double beds, and a triple bed, meaning that the bedroom can hold fourteen housemates. At the end, there is some red storage space, but housemates can also keep their things in some overhead shelves, and their bed drawers.

11 – The kitchen. It uses bright green and white colours, and contains block coloured areas for cooking – one has a sink, one has a hob, and others are empty. All contain drawers – nearby, there is also a fridge/freezer and an oven.

12 – The store room – it uses the same colours as the kitchen, and includes storage space where the housemates can collect their food.

13 – This is the deck – it is slightly raised from the grass of the garden, and is directly by the kitchen – the kitchen has a large window looking out onto the deck. The deck has two special circular hanging chairs at the back, and a star on the floor. The star, and the deck will be used throughout the series as not only a place where housemates can sit, but also as a stage for performance tasks.

14 – The garden – like Big Brother 8, it uses “fake grass” and there is a lot of open space that will be used for tasks.

15 – This is the smoking/non-smoking area. There is a bench for smokers, and a bench for non-smokers. This area is roofed, and blinds can come down to section it off. Behind the ashtray, there is a secret door.

16 – This is a toilet accessed from the smoking/non-smoking area.

17 – The Happy House. This is the loft/nowhere/caravan kind of place for the series. Inside is a huge colourful “sofa” that takes up almost the entire room – it is very comfortable, and it is expected that bitching sessions will take place here.

18 – The pool – the pool is fairly big this year, and can easily be seen from the dining area.

19 – This is a secret corridor, which can be accessed from a secret door behind a potted plant in the garden. The door is hard to find, and is kept locked when Big Brother does not wish for it to be accessed.

20 – This is the secret room, accessed from the smoking/non-smoking area. It will be used for many things – when it is in use, other housemates can watch from the secret corridor without the people in the room knowing. It will be used for parties, tasks, and evil things Big Brother has in store.

And finally for today, some early pictures of the house:

What do you think? In the next few days, I'll be working on the house more, and starting designs for the eye.
