You know very well, Alf, that it's a very interdependent world whichever way you turn. Signing free trade agreements with big economies won't be pretty either. Trump, China, India etc will extract all sorts of concessions, it won't be easy or pretty.
Agreed, the country is pretty evenly split on the EU. Whichever way it goes it won't be "resolved". I'd say a soft brexit is the best compromise, but you leavers are not keen on compromise, are you
