Every TV Comedy Series starts somewhere - even the GREATS such as legendary writer John Sullivan's 'Only Fools and Horses' - and the question here is; 'Has this idea got legs'? NOT; 'Is This the 'comedic equivalent of Usain Bolt'?
Look back at the very first episode of many established and loved UK TV Comedy Series and you will not only see how 'naive' and even 'amateurish' the writing is but also how 'skeletal' some of the characters are in comparison to the razor-sharp writing and 'fleshed-out' characters of the series as it progressed and evolved. Yes - even the iconic 'Del-Boy' and co in the first episode - take a look. I am not claiming that this from Ellie Brew is anywhere near 'Fools and Horses' (which UK Sit-Com is?) but even now - from the promo clip - it certainly is highly comparable to 'Benidorm', and the collective experience, skill, guidance and money of the production companies is sometimes all it takes to turn 'raw potential' into the 'finished article'. I wish Ellie luck.
