More than 2 million viewers abandoned I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! for last night's second episode despite a first-night catfight between Janice Dickinson and Lynne Franks.

The ITV1 reality show saw its audience drop from 8.7 million viewers on Monday night to 6.5 million viewers last night. The channel's share in the 9pm slot dropped from 38% to 26.6% overnight.

There was a bigger audience drop-off between the first and second episode of I'm a Celebrity this year. In 2006 the series six opened with 8.9 million viewers and had lost 1.3 million by its second outing.

In spite of this, I'm a Celebrity still triumphed over BBC One in the 9pm slot. Returning drama Spooks only pulled in 5.2 million viewers and a 21.5% share for the corporation.

Gordon Ramsay also saw his ratings plummet for the second episode of his new Channel 4 series. While the show debuted with 3.9 million viewers and a 17% share last week, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares dropped to 2.9 million and a 11.8% share last night.

This, however, was enough to give Channel 4 the edge over Five and BBC2 in the 9pm slot. US import CSI: Miami continued to deliver solid ratings for Five with a 2.2 million-strong audience and a 9.2 percent share.

For the second week running BBC Two's music talent show Classical Star trailed in last out of the five terrestrial channels in the 9pm hour. The series scored a lowly 1.6 million viewers and a 6.7% share.

BBC Two did shine an hour earlier with Autumnwatch, the fortnight-long nature series fronted by Bill Oddie and Kate Humble, watched by 3.4 million viewers, a 14.4% share.

The programme came in second behind slot winner Holby City, which captured 6.4 million viewers and a 27.4% share.

Trinny and Susannah Undress the Nation came in third at 8pm. After attracting 5.1 million viewers to ITV1 for its cleavage special last week, this week's episode about men's clothes brought in a less impressive 3 million viewers and a 13% share.
