The shakes up begin and end there, as the people are looking for their "messiah". Obama, Tea Party, Bernie... now with Trump. It's sad, but I don't see him as the end of that road. At least not yet.

It's convenient for the media to point out Trump's role given their own role in much of our political climate including their part in his successes. Realistically though, not all things in life rotate around Trump. Though I think some have bought into the illusion of their own making and are starting to believe that. In some ways, it's kind of good he is doing most of the talking... because he's the major attraction atm, and he's taking the hits for a group of people who feel unheard. So maybe after all this is over, it may even lower the temperature. As ironic as that sounds, but people knew exactly what they voted for and who they voted in... so this could be the electorate's way of blowing steam after two failed presidencies. (which is a common feeling here) Not saying that will actually happen... I'm 50/50 on either the next administration will be much much worse than Trump (from either side)... or we may want a more centrist Washington, no more rabblerousers...

However I personally feel about Trump, he has helped to burst some bubbles there and bring back some of the confidence in the Right which has been under attack as the "heathens". Imo, in order to balance the Left, we'd also need a stronger Right. But there's also the third possibility which seems very unlikely, that both platforms implode and we see new parties/Libertarian party rise up in it's place... who knows... the rhetoric is only as bad as it is because of the both parties are a major source of disapproval here. Congress' popularity rating being one of the worst no matter who is in charge.

I think Trump should correct himself though and stop the jokes about punching protesters, enemy of the people media, etc. His supporters love it, sure, but for the rest of us, we "pay" the toll for his mistakes in the long-term in the form of increased partisanship.

On the bomber, with the list of people he sent bombs to, he must be a big Cable News watcher/Twitter reader. I made me think. I would say all these people are popular in social media and a lot of issues come from social media.

During the stream I pasted, the YT chat was a total mess. People calling it was a false flag, faked, that he was a "fall guy" and generally a sounding board for everything vulgar. I don't know why serious outfits even keep comment boards/chatrooms like up with their streams when they're 100% filled with the worst kind of people. None of the conversation is regular people.

The boards&chatrooms that were around during the 90's (think Yahoo and MSN) were all but completely closed for very similar reasons, including pedophilia, vitroil, stalking, etc. I disagreed with it at that time, but maybe something similar will eventually happen to social media. The Atlantic for example have already gotten rid of their comment boards entirely.

When the free press is considered as an Enemy of the state there is a Big problem.

How is it that the 2nd ammenmet is so realivent but the first means nothing
