Marc's love flees Oz after seeing canoodles with Cerys

Marc Bannerman's distraught girlfriend jetted out of Australia yesterday - less than 48 hours after arriving.

Heartbroken Sarah Matravers, 32, fled after viewing DVDs in her hotel room of Marc flirting with singer Cerys Matthews.

She insisted she had not dumped her lover of two years but added she would confront him in private when he returns to Britain.

Sarah said last night: "I'd love to be able to forgive him but I'm so confused at the moment.

"I'm shellshocked to be honest, so I've got to get home. I have got so much to say to him but really that has to happen behind closed doors."

Sarah added watching ex-East-Enders star Marc's antics at home in London had been tough but was worse when she arrived Down Under. She said: "It's been extremely painful to watch the man I love disrespecting me and our relationship in front of the nation for someone he's known for a week.

"It was planned from the start I was going to come out but being here's a lot harder than I imagined."

Earlier Cerys, 38, hinted strongly she had fallen for Marc and threatened to walk out to make the situation between them "easier".

Sitting by the creek, she told him that her chest was hurting.

Prodding him to show where she meant, he realised she was talking about heartache.

He told her: "I've got to be so careful I really don't want to hurt anyone."

Later Marc, 34, confided to ex-Changing Rooms presenter Anna Ryder Richardson he had deep feelings for Cerys as they returned from their Celebrity Chest mission.

He said: "I'm in deep doo-doo. I'm just going to have to carry on."
