U.S. wrestling and reality TV star Hulk Hogan's wife has filed for divorce, according to media reports Saturday.

Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, had no idea of the divorce until a reporter told him that Pinellas County court records showed his wife, Linda, submitted divorce papers on Tuesday, reports said.

Hulk then said, "Thank you for the great information," and hung up.

A few minutes later, he called back and said: "You caught me off-guard. My wife has been in California for about three weeks. ... Holy smokes. Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me. ... I just pulled over to the side of the road for five minutes to find out what was going on here."

The courts papers don't say why Linda wants to end her nearly 24-year marriage to Hogan. Calls made since then to Hulk's representatives have remained unanswered.

Hulk, 54, and Linda, 48, appear on the VH1 reality show "Hogan Knows Best" with their children Nick and Brooke. Recent episodes show the couple attending marital counseling, but they eventually reconcile.

On Nov. 7, Nick, 17, was arrested on reckless-driving charges after a car crash.

Their daughter, Brooke, 19, is a pop singer who had a hit with "About Us."
