FOOTIE star Jermain Defoe is ready for a bitter custody battle – over his pet dog Busta.

When the Tottenham striker split with model Charlotte Mears last month she made sure she kept hold of his beloved pooch.

But Jermain, 25, now dating Charlotte’s ex-pal Danielle Lloyd, is desperate to get the bulldog back.

A pal of the couple said: “Jermain was gutted when Charlotte took Busta. He loved that dog.They picked him together when he was ten weeks old.

“But Jermain always saw him as his. Charlotte’s worried the custody battle could end up in court.”

The WAGS Boutique babe dated Jermain for two years and was devastated when she discovered he was secretly seeing Danielle, 23.

Charlotte had become close to the Scouser on modelling assignments.

Charlotte, 21, finally moved her things – and Busta – out of Jermain’s £3million mansion in Hertfordshire last week.

She is now looking for a new pad in West London but she found time to fit in a trip to Cheshire to spend the night with a new mystery fella and the six-month-old pup.

A pal said: “She’s not looking for any- thing serious but that doesn’t mean she can’t have a bit of fun and having Busta makes her split from Defoe all the sweeter.”
