Sharon Osbourne\'s savage attack on Dannii Minogue: \'She\'s only on X Factor because of her looks\'
Quote:
Sharon Osbourne's savage attack on Dannii Minogue: 'She's only on X Factor because of her looks' Sharon Osbourne has launched a stunning attack on her rival X Factor judge Dannii Minogue.
The 54-year-old wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne further fuelled the pair's long standing feud with an acerbic swipe, claiming the pop singer landed the job because of her appearance rather than talent.
She told TV host Graham Norton: "She knows she's there because of her looks, not because of her contribution to the music industry."
She also hinted at a budding romance between 36-year-old Dannii and Simon Cowell.
She said: "She's younger. She's better-looking. Simon wants her and he doesn't want me... thank God!"
Sources say Sharon has long been concerned her role on the show would be eclipsed by her younger rival.
Any simmering jealously has no doubt been exacerbated by the fact that Dannii still has two remaining protégés in the competition, while Sharon was the first to lose her team.
In October, the mother of three threatened to quit after rowing with Dannii in her dressing room minutes before the show went on air, according to reports.
Simon has done little to smooth over rumours of unrest, admitting earlier this year that the pair compete for his attention.
He said early in the season: "When I sit next to one, the other sulks. I have to try to give each one equal attention.
"You know girls can be very catty and it's been very interesting watching how another woman has affected the dynamic of the group."
Meanwhile, Sharon also spoke of her disappointment at seeing contestant Nikki leave the competition.
"It was a travesty that she got the boot," she says.
"I felt she was what the show was about. She hasn't really had a break in her life; she represents every working mum in the country, and they boot her off! And as for Rhydian – of course he's going to win, but what do I know anymore?"
The full interview with Graham Norton airs on BBC2 tomorrow night at 10pm.
