Default X Factor Leon\'s Mum Has The Champagne On Ice

Quote:
X Factor Leon's Mum Has The Champagne On Ice
X FACTOR finalist Leon Jackson's mum Wendy will head to his showdown in a limousine with a bottle of champagne in her bag.

Wendy Jackson will be arriving in style for the talent show's grand final tomorrow.

And she will have the whole of Scotland behind her as she cheers on singing sensation Leon.

Wendy has watched her 18-year-old son reach the final with Rhydian Roberts and duo Same Difference.

They will fight it out for a £1million record deal.

Last night, she insisted she would be proud of Leon win or lose but she admitted she is taking a bottle of bubbly with her just in case.

She said: "Leon's story on X Factor has been like the tortoise and the hare.

"Rhydian was the one everyone said was ahead of the rest but Leon has caught up by being versatile and pushing himself each week.

"I haven't thought about what we'll do if he wins except I've got a bottle of champagne to take with me on Saturday night.

"Whatever happens, I'll be very proud."

Leon's home support was demonstrated earlier this week when he made a flying visit to his home in Whitburn, West Lothian. Supporters lined the streets outside his home.

And more than 3500 fans turned up at McArthur Glen in Livingston to see Leon performa brief concert.

His supporters have raised funds during the series to ensure Wendy has been able to fly down to London for each round.

And they have come up with a VIP way for her to arrive at the ITV studios tomorrow night.

A local firm hired a limo to take Wendy and Leon's gran Jean Wotherspoon from the airport to the final.

It will be an extra treat for Jean, who will overcome her fear of flying and get on a plane for the first time to see Leon live.

In last week's semi-final, Leon admitted to being overcome by nerves as he took to the stage.

Wendy said: "I told him he has to go out, relax and enjoy himself because he has nothing to lose."

Meanwhile, X Factor cameras will be in Edinburgh tomorrow night to capture support for Leon live.

Doors close at the George Square Theatre at 6.30pm and only the first 500 will get in.

THE SONGS

Same Difference - All I Want For Christmas Is You, Breaking Free
Rhydian Roberts - O Holy Night, Somewhere
Leon Jackson - White Christmas, You Don't Know Me

THE BETTING

AN incredible £75,000 has been gambled on Leon. Punters have piled cash on to the 18-year-old former shop assistant - some at odds of 30-1. A spokesman for online betting giants Betfair said: "There has been a lot of money put on Leon and he is second favourite. Rhydian is still the favourite."
