Prologue From Encarta Quote:
If you recall it was postulated, gentile reader that our collective unconscious is able to give form to a world where magical creatures actually exist. Every fantasy genre, such as that from Tolkien, or the Brothers Grimm feeds through into the collective psyche, so somewhere, even they come into being. Beings discounted as fictional become self aware, and are able to exist in their own realm. They manage to become independent of humans, so much so, that their magical powers given by fiction, fantasy and myths and archetypes, could allow them, if they so wished, to cross into our world and exist here with their magical powers. However, you may recall that as fantasy beings form part of our culture and thereby our collective unconscious, so too does order. With all these mystical entities having to co-exist, there must be laws. To protect the world of mortals and the collective unconscious, which once gave form to these mystical realms, a special law had to be enforced, to prohibit the deliberate interference by these entities in the affairs of mortals. But these laws broke down, when a vengeful major spirit of vice assassinated the tyrannical Lord Low Troll, who kept order. For her own nefarious purposes she triggered a civil war of orcs versus Trolls, with some troll clans supporting the Orcs. As the trolls were divided the victory for the orcs looked certain and also spelled doom for the other races, as the orcs were in the sway of a breed of nationalism that would not have seemed out of place amongst Serbians in the Balkan wars of the 1990’s It was a perversity of fate that the only way the other races could live, would be for the cruel and hated trolls to be reunited and force the orcs to an uneasy truce, as those two power blocks were evenly matched. The trolls who had defected to the orcs had to be won back to bring peace to the world of the Mystical Realms. But who to lead them, there was the rub, for such was the hurt and division amongst the trolls, that no clan wanted another to have that honour, just yet. So who to lead the Trolls from the ancient Troll citadel at Karam-Tag-Chou ![]() So it fell to the last surviving relative of the last leader, The Lord Low Troll, to come up with a figurehead leader that could be accepted by all. The Prince Low Troll of the Troll clan of Manjura came up with a proposed new leader that was radical. ![]() The new leader would be one that could be seen as not a natural supporter of the clan of Manjura. It would be one who had once clashed swords, as it were with that troll clan leader, and even more radical, the new Emperor of the Troll clans, would be A Mortal Human Last edited by Sticks; 31-10-2009 at 02:46 PM.
