Kate, Mitchell has nothing to lose by being dishonest at this point. Trust me hand on heart when I say you'll find out more tomorrow with the finale speeches. Mitchell wasn't going to backstab Wizard, and trying to convince Mitchell he was isn't gonna do anything.

I'm certain Wizard know Mitchell wasn't gonna backstab him, too
