[AT&T merges WarnerMedia with Discovery in $43billion
deal to create streaming service to
rival Netflix and Disney:
CNN, HBO, TNT and the Food Network all go under the same roof
AT&T announced on Monday that it was
spinning off WarnerMedia and merging it with Discovery
The new streaming service has a new
name which hasn't been announced yet
Discovery says it'll spend $20billion investing
in content in the first year - $3bn more than
Netflix did last year
The new company doesn't have
a name yet; Discovery CEO David Zaslav will be the CEO]
