It seemed to come from a less pleasant place when Danny was doing it (i.e. he finds her annoying, not cute/funny).

…I think that he did maybe find her cute/funny until she was honest and said that she wanted to get to know him and Aaron…honesty is obviously not the best policy in all things because that honesty suddenly became ‘mugging him off’…
