This saying certainly seems to be true, judging by the attitudes of the 'rich' and 'poor' housemates recently.

The poor housemates are bonding and pulling together as a team, keeping each other cheerful, cooking and eating their meals together, and generally making the best of their situation. PJ even admitted today that it's really not so bad and he's only missing orange juice in the mornings! Most importantly, none of the poor housemates nominated each other.

Contrast this with the 'rich' housemates - Lee and Sophie slouching on the sofa all day, Sandy spending most of his time in the garden, Kate desperately trying to keep in contact with Spencer, and Jonny left to his own devices. They rarely all sit down together, cook their own meals at different times, and made nominations from their own side of the house.
