She apparently said to one of her colleague that she thinks I'm the best person in my workplace, best means best looking, this person told me, although i never said to him that i liked her. I do speak to her occassionally but not too long.

Find something interesting to tell her, about something she likes (but something you don't like but pretend you do lol) you will talk more and more and it will go naturally.

Nah, not at all. Find something she likes to talk about, ask some workmates who know her and stuff. Find a great opportunity to do that. That's what I have done and I'm still with my girlfriend for almost 1 year and a half now so it works.
