Bars and clubs are there to make slosh-money off people and they really don’t care about your well-being but what would you do if you were a waiter/landlord or landlady in a pub (who legally have to put certain boundaries on how much someone can get smashed and keep buying drinks from that point)? Would you keep trying to make money off of them or actually try and sober them up with coffee/water (you wouldn’t necessarily have to send them their way, not if they’re not being aggressive/abusive)?
