Or she could have just had a discussion with Lily, and made the suggestion that one of them puts their arm down, with the promise that the other would take them through.
There was no need for the guilt-tripping or manipulative tactics she used, which seemed to demoralise and subdue someone she classed as a friend in the house. She could have achieved the same result in a more thoughtful and considerate way - the fact that she chose not to suggests a lot about her personality, and her treatment of others.
