That's hard. I'm sure you're doing great Sheriff.

I just didn’t care to hide my drinking. I could’ve been doing bits with ITV had I not been such an alcoholic but 2018 me just didn’t want to help myself, so I got sacked. The drinking problem cost me way more money than that but that’s just one example of how it cost me a really good opportunity and permanently closed a door on me for no reason. I’d give my all to that company if they took me back tomorrow now but they’re not trying to risk taking back an ex-alcoholic so it’s a no-go.
It's a life lesson. Glad you are more stable now. Try not to dwindle too much on the what ifs

It’s a vicious circle and unless you have a strength within to stop the self destruction it’s inevitable that things will spiral out of control and a life ends because of it.
I’m sure his family are not relieved it’s over…they probably had hope that he could get through it. It’s just all very tragic for everyone involved.

The fact that we see so many people who got rich & famous young lose themselves to drugs, alcohol and depression should indicate strongly that it isn't, in fact, "every opportunity" at all and seems to leave a lot of them - maybe even most of them - feeling rather empty.
Agreed

Are you serious?

I do wonder sometimes about people. Like the complete lack of emotional intelligence and basic understanding around mental health.

Advantage? What because he had money?

Again, complete lack of emotional intelligence and understanding.
