Double stabbing horror in Piccadilly Gardens as man fighting for life with new
police powers across WHOLE city centre

Greater Manchester Police says two men, one in his 20s and one in his 30s,
were taken to hospital from the scene with stab wounds.

The pair remain in hospital, with one of the men described as being in a critical
condition.



A Section 60 order is now in force until 12.53am on Friday morning, covering
the entire of Manchester city centre excluding Ancoats, plus parts of Salford
around Chapel Street.

The 24-hour order, issued overnight under the 1994 Criminal Justice and
Public Order Act, grants officers extended powers to stop and search
individuals within the area it covers.
