Just 4 months in the UK Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, spotted the child in a park before abducting her and carrying out the attack in a secluded cul-de-sac in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The attack took place in July last year, four months after he crossed the Channel in an inflatable boat. Mulakhil was initially housed in Kent before being moved to Nuneaton six weeks before the rape. He was living unsupervised with other asylum seekers in a taxpayer-funded property in the town. Fellow Afghan national Mohammad Kabir, 24, who arrived from across the Channel in a boat on Christmas Day 2024, was cleared of attempting to take a child, committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence, and intentional strangulation.
