…incredibly heartbreaking….
A young girl who went missing in Doncaster has been found dead in a golf course pond. Police said that the child went missing in the Skellow area of Doncaster on Monday morning, just before 10am. She was later found in a pond on Owston Hall golf course, following an extensive search that included police drones and aircraft. “Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services colleagues, they were pronounced deceased,” a South Yorkshire Police (SYP) spokesperson said. “The child’s family has been informed and is being supported by our officers. “The thoughts of everybody at SYP are with them at this devastating time.” A fundraiser on GoFundMe named the girl as seven-year-old Nyla May Bradshaw. “Nyla was a deeply loved little girl – autistic and non-verbal – who brought so much light and love to those around her,” the page said. “Her sudden and devastating loss has left her family in unimaginable shock and heartbreak.” Nyla May was “not in the care of her parents” when she drowned, the page said. “Her family are now facing the unimaginable pain of losing their beautiful daughter, alongside many unanswered questions and the overwhelming responsibility of arranging her funeral.” Children’s autism charity Little Rainbows Doncaster said in a social media post that Nyla was a “beautiful little girl” who loved Christmas. “She was autistic and non-verbal, yet her presence spoke volumes — she touched more lives than words could ever express. “Our entire community is heartbroken, and our thoughts are firmly with her family as they face this unimaginable loss.” It added: “For many of us as parents of autistic children, this is the fear we carry every single day — and today, that fear has become a reality for one of our own.”
