HUNKY Anthony Hutton turned to the disco night-life after injury dashed his dreams of becoming a pro footballer.

The 23-year-old Geordie housemate swapped his boots for shades and a retro 70s outfit to become a professional disco dancer.


But the Mirror can reveal that as a teenager Anthony was such a talented player, scouts from Newcastle and Middlesbrough watched him play.

His coach Bernie Allen said: "There was a lot of interest being shown in Anthony when he was 17.

"But when the most important season of his life started, he suffered a broken ankle a few games in and had to sit the season out. He was gutted."

Realising his dream was over, he switched to disco dancing. But he still plays for non-league side Annfield Plain as striker. Bernie added: "He won't make it as a professional now but he still loves being involved.

"I'm not surprised he turned to dancing considering he'd get £10 a match from me and about £240 a night dancing on stage."

He also revealed Anthony's gran Mary Hutton was his biggest fan. He said: "If he ever got into any bother on the field or somebody hacked him down, Granny Hutton would rush on to the field with her walking stick and start berating whoever did it."

When his dancing career took off Anthony joined 70s dance group the Stretch Limo Boogie Express.

Granny Hutton also revealed her grandson wears his lucky Superman pulling pants to bed women, adding: "He's really into the girls and has had quite a few girlfriends. When he was a lad it was all football, football, football. That was up until he discovered girls and then it was all girls, girls, girls."

Back in the house, Anthony was enjoying a slap up meal with Derek and Roberto after they were declared winners of the endurance task - each spending 27 hours in a tiny box. But they refused to get out of them for another 25 minutes, fearing it was a trick.

However, Science lasted less than an hour and was quickly followed by Kemal - later ordered to sit on the "naughty step" after sticking a toilet brush into Roberto's box.
