Default Thats it, Emmerdale has lost the plot

The cast of Emmerdale are reportedly becoming displeased with the show's 'tacky' and 'unsuitable' storylines.

One scene which recently caused controversy among the cast and crew during filming saw Douglas Potts (Duncan Preston) itching his groin in the village shop after catching a sexually transmitted infection.

An Emmerdale source told The Mirror: "This has to be the tackiest soap story of all time.

"Duncan was horrified. His character has casual sex, ends up getting crabs and is seen scratching himself in the corner shop. How can this possibly be suitable for a 7pm audience? Duncan is a top actor and it is terrible that he has had to go through this crackpot charade."

They continued: "Some people are so unhappy they are seriously thinking of throwing in the towel. It is not the happy place it used to be. They have got rid of good people.

"Anita doesn't seem to know what she wants. At first it was a return to family values, whatever they are. I wouldn't like to try to explain to children why Douglas is fiddling about with his nether regions."

A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire-based soap, however, said: "It raises awareness of what can be an embarrassing infection and stresses the importance of seeking medical advice."
