Big Brother winner Rachel to switch on Christmas lights
Quote:
Big Brother winner Rachel to switch on Christmas lights THE winner of this year’s Big Brother, Rachel Rice from Cwmbran, will be turning on the Christmas lights in Brynmawr this week.
The reality TV show star will be joined by families from BBC Wales’s Coal House at War for the event which starts at 6pm this Thursday.
The Paisey, Griffiths and Tranter-Davies families who starred in the popular television reality show will be there on the night – together with Rory who also featured in the series as one of the ‘Bevin Boys’.
Brynmawr Partnership has organised the big event. The main action will be in Market Square – in addition to the TV reality stars and the lights there will be a fancy dress parade, a dance display, fun fair and fireworks.
The fun begins at 6pm when the parade assembles at Market Square. The floats and volunteer performers will parade in carnival fashion through the town centre and return for the grand switch-on at 7pm.
That will be followed by the fireworks display – and the fun fair attractions and rides will be open all evening.
Other events in Brynmawr this Christmas include a food and craft market on Market Square on Saturday, December 13, from 10am until 3pm.
On the same day, Father Christmas will be there to meet local children – a photographer will be on hand to capture each special moment.
For more information about the switch-on you can contact Brynmawr Partnership on 078158 45863.
For more information on the Christmas Market you can contact Town Centre Manager Karin Lamb on 01495 355565.
