For anyone who is orthodox here...Merry Christmas !
Why is Russian Christmas today ? Because the Russian Orthodox Church still uses the old Julian calendar; therefore, its Christmas celebration falls on January 7th, 13 days behind the West. It's a day of both solemn ritual and joyous celebration. And my Russian family was supposed to arrive tonight but since all airports are closed in Southern France due to snow, they're stuck in Berlin lol
