Default Am I in the right here?

Kind of a rant.. it's really annoying me.

On 27th February, I'm going the MEN to see the X Factor Live. So Mum said it would be best to have the afternoon off school, so we can beat the traffic when we get to Manchester, and we can go and visit relations that live there for a few hours.

So I went to ask my teacher in registration what the best way to go home at lunch time. (I.e. Book it as holiday or just bring a note on the day) and she said I couldn't possibly do that, it will be marked as unauthorized and won't look good in the future. I do believe my career isn't going to plummet due to missing ICT and English, once.

I never book like 3 week holidays like some people do to go to Australia or the like, in the 4 years I've been in the school I've had booked a one day holiday, so we could go for a long weekend away about 2 years ago.

Do you think I should be allowed to have 2 lessons off to go?

(Btw, if they say I can't go, I will just be 'ill' xD)

I just want to get someone else's opinion before I have to go and see the head of year of Monday about it
