JACK THE LAG’S SNUB FOR JADE

BATTLING Jade Goody is facing new heartbreak over claims her jailed lover will not run into her arms when he’s released this week.

Jack Tweed, 21, is expected to gain his freedom on Thursday after serving a third of an 18-month term for battering a youth.

But, according to entries on the Facebook website, he has no plans for an immediate reunion with former Big Brother star Jade – who is suffering from cancer.

Instead, his first hours out of clink in Chelmsford, Essex, will be spent with pals who have arranged a bash in his honour.

The event “Jack Tweed’s Welcome Home Party” kicks off during the day. It is billed to move on to the Essex nightspot Faces but, under the tagging and curfew terms of Tweed’s release, he will probably not be able to go there himself.

Pals are convinced, though, that he will party with them for as long as he can before heading to his mum Mary’s home and his first hug with Jade.

Jade, 27, has spoken of her joy at the thought of spending time with Jack.

Yesterday, a source said: “She is going to be absolutely distraught if she doesn’t see him.

“Only last week she was talking about how Jack was her ‘rock’ and how much she was looking forward to him getting out.

“With all the chemotherapy she has been getting, a hug from Jack would have been a real boost.

“Sadly, it seems he has other ideas about how he wants to spend his first hours of freedom.

“It’s such a shame. Jade wants the support of the man she loves but Jack appears more concerned with going out and getting pissed with his mates.

“According to the entries on his Facebook account, it looks like Jack will definitely be attending the party.”

Probation officers have assessed Mary’s home to ensure it is a suitable place for Jack to stay. He will be let out on licence wearing an electronic tag and will face a strict curfew.

He could be sent back to jail if he breaks the conditions. Jade also lives in Essex with sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

She said last week: “I’m desperate for Jack to come home and for him to give me that cuddle.

“But, even when he does, he will have to live at his mum’s because he’ll be on the tag – so I still won’t be waking up next to him in the morning.”

Jade has revealed she has just a 40% chance of surviving cervical cancer.

She has undergone a hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and has still to cope with pain every day.
