Oasis have been nominated in seven categories for the Shockwaves NME Awards.

The Manchester rockers picked up nods for Best British Band, Best Live Band and Best Album for Dig Out Your Soul, along with a surprise nomination in the Worst Band category.

When told about the Awards nods, Noel Gallagher said: "Seven nominations, you say? Is that all? I always knew my time would come in the Best Dressed Man In The World category."

Other acts to feature prominently include Alex Turner, The Last Shadow Puppets, Arctic Monkey, Kings Of Leon, MGMT, Radiohead, and Vampire Weekend.
