Australians have renamed a street Dildo Boulevard after 30 sex toys were dumped in the road.

The items were dumped on Osbeck Road last Friday, prompting a local to pin up a sign featuring the new street name.

Laurelle Bates, who discovered the toys with Robert Johns, told The Northern Territory News: "It's a real mystery. We have no idea where they came from. I know they aren't new. They look used."

Johns revealed that some of the larger items had disappeared within hours. "Yeah, some of the bigger ones are gone," he said.

Fellow resident Camilla Cappa commented: "There were all different kinds. Some were different colours. One was like a banana. I had a child in the car. He just thought they were firecrackers."

She added: "Who is going to pick them up? If you pick them up, you claim ownership. If you own them, you're desperate."
