ITV1's Dancing on Ice peaked at 9.9 million viewers last night, Sunday 1 March, with former Emmerdale actor Roxanne Pallett the latest celebrity to be kicked off.

The reality show, which saw Coleen Nolan saved by the public vote, attracted an average of 9 million viewers and a 36% share for the first instalment between 6.55pm and 8.15pm, peaking at 9.9 million for the final 15 minutes, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Later in the evening the Dancing on Ice results show picked up 8 million viewers and a 31% share between 9.15pm and 10pm.

ITV1 drama Wild at Heart, sandwiched between the two Dancing on Ice shows, gained 7.6 million and a 29% share between 8.15pm and 9.15pm.

BBC1's highest rating of the night came with period drama Lark Rise to Candleford, with 5.8 million viewers and a 22% share in the 8pm hour.

BBC1's Antiques Roadshow claimed 5.7 million viewers and a 23% share in the 7pm hour, while Jeremy Paxman's documentary series The Victorians drew 4 million and a 16% share in the 9pm hour.

The second instalment of Piers Morgan's Life Stories, featuring Sir Richard Branson, pulled in 4.5 million and a 25% share in the 10pm hour – the same rating as last week's edition featuring Sharon Osbourne, although up one percentage point.

BBC2's new series Monty Halls's Great Escape picked up 2.3 million and a 9% share in the 9pm hour, while Match of the Day 2 gained the same rating but a higher share of 13% in the 10pm hour.

Channel 4 did best with a new series of cookery show Come Dine with Me, with 2.2 million and an 8% share in the 8pm hour, with a further 280,000 on Channel 4 +1 an hour later.

Channel Five's biggest hitter of the day was movie repeat Jumanji, with 1.5 million and a 7% share between 5.55pm and 8pm.

Sky1 continued to do well with its Sunday night fare of US drama Lost, which pulled in 948,000 and a multichannel share of 4%, and Ross Kemp: Return to Afghanistan, with 725,000 and a 4.4% share in the 10pm hour.

BBC3 also had a good night with movie repeat Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit gaining 857,000 and a 3.6% share between 7.40pm and 9pm, while the last in the series of drama Being Human drew 822,000 and a 3.5% share in the 9pm hour.
