Facebook is getting a home page refresh to better help you navigate through all your friends’ status updates, photos and pokes. The new Facebook home page doesn’t go live until next week, but we’ve got a sneak peek - it’s after the jump!
What’s new in the new Facebook home page then? The starting page for the social network now updates in real time, so you won’t have to constantly hit refresh, while you can filter who appears on the new Facebook home page stream by friend type and network. The status bar is now the publisher too: a way to quickly share links, photos and videos too for everyone to see.
The filter is definitely a crucial addition to the new Facebook home page- you know you’ve added people you regret as friends before, now you can silence them without giving them the virtual hand. However, the “What’s On Your Mind?” replacement for status is more than a little embarrassing.
All in all though, the new Facebook home page seems like just the right tweak to improve procrastination. The new Facebook home page goes live next week.
