Default Bus driver sacked after stopping for frog

Quote:
A bus driver was sacked from her job after reportedly stopping her double decker to remove a frog from the road. Christina Pommerel said that management at German bus company RBO had advised her to simply drive over the creatures in the future following a passenger complaint.

Bosses then apparently sacked the 46-year-old when she said that her conscience would not allow her to. "It was in the middle of the road so I slowed down and put on the hazard flashers. Then I climbed out and put the frog in a box so I could take it to the side of the road and let it free," Pommerel explained.

"They told me I should have squashed the frog and not stopped. When I said I couldn't do that I was fired." Pommerel, who is originally from France, had been working for the company in Regensburg for 13 years before she was sacked.
