Big Brother Germany Enters Guinness World Records
HILVERSUM, August 12: Season five of the German version of Big Brother has been recognized as the longest uninterrupted television broadcast in history by Guinness World Records.

From March 2, 2004 to March 1, 2005, Premiere aired Big Brother 5 continuously, totaling 8,763 hours.

Keely Hopkins, the records researcher and adjudicator for Guinness World Records, commented, “This is the first time the record has been broken for almost 10 years. The last registered longest uninterrupted broadcast was the Swiss television station Suisse 4, broadcasting the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta, USA, around the clock for 16 days 22 hours 45 minutes, from 19 July to 5 August 1996.”
