Default Why Do Employers NEVER believe you are ill?

Yesterday i rang in sick, I'd been throwing up, had a tight chest, etc and don't know why.

I rang my boss to say that I couldn't make it into work. Rather than be sympathetic he gave me 20 questions such as was I drinking the night before, why I was ill, etc etc and you could tell he was not believing I was genuinely ill.

One, I'm ill, those questions can wait till I come back to work, I was in no mood to have a twenty min convo over phone with him.

and two, how the hell dare he imply I'm skivving, when I work my arse of there, do about 50 hours a week, never call in sick and still was in work on Sunday when I found out my uncle died?? It really riled me that he was so rude and sarcastic on the phone.

Aggggggggggggjhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Sorry, had to get this off my chest.

But does anyone else find this with their employer when they ring in sick?
