I'd also point to the 'at home' bits they do for launch nights and Marcus' introduction does take place in what appears to be a teenage boys bedroom and nowhere else.

Yes and no.
Yes that much was said but that is not all that was said and there was definitely more.
Davina most definitely said he lives with his Mum and teased she gave him permission to go out.
These are not contradictions though. in your quote they are teasing he doesn't have a wife and/or live-in girlfried and instead has had a cat.
That is my theory on that cat statement.
I could ask you - why would Davina say he lives with his Mum?
Was that a lie?
Why did Marcus say he lives with his Mum?
Was he lying?
Or did he tell them he lives alone with his cat but didn't mention his Mum?
You tell me.
