Having done scaffolding myself i know it requires upper back strength and alot of strength in your wrist forearms and upper arms (depending on how you prefer to carry the poles)
The lads i worked with and other lads i know from the job pretty much carry everything on their shoulders.
Arm wrestling needs strength but it also requires alot of technique as well. He went up against someone who hits the gym an awful lot. He works all areas of his body so will be stronger. Given none of them arm wrestle alot you can safely say they both have no technique.
In the pool they both were oiled up the bottom of the pool was very slippery so marcus could have pushed all his strength against roddy and all they strength would of disappeared into the slide against the bottom of the pool as he had no base in which to support his push.
Siavash looked like he had either wrestled before or was naturally good as he kept his natural center of gravity low and always kept his grip around their waist which again is a good center of gravity to keep when your that low down.
