I'm not quite sure where you get your information, but it severely flawed. First of all, BB USA is NOT categorized as a soap opera. In the US, soap operas aren't even the same as they are here so clearly you have that wrong. Second of all, there is 24 hour live feed. Third, the show is no more scripted than the UK one.
The soap opera categorization was discussed ad nauseum early on. Check the archives at jam.canoe.ca's BB pages. It gives the producers the ability to manipulate the game without breaking FCC game show rules.

The 24/7 live feed exists, but it's not live 24/7. The feed goes to a shot of the fish tank whenever houseguests discuss production, diary room sessions, results of games, etc. Most competitions are blocked from the feeds as well.

It has also been discussed in the past (caught on live feed before being blocked) that producers have given HG's scripts for the diary room sessions, have coached them on what to say and how to react.
You don't seem to have a clear understanding of US reality tv shows. First of all, it isn't referred to as a game show there. NONE of them are. Second of all, they aren't categorized as a soap opera either. They are not in the slightest similar to a US soap opera. And I won't take the word of some random unofficial website as proof of it either. That's like someone using a thread here as proof of something.

Second of all, ALL reality tv shows in the us have producers asking questions in the diary room/confessional in order to get the sound bytes. In BB, I don't think the producers speak directly to them so they are given a list of questions to speak about. That is NOT the same thing as being scripted. If there is a sheet of paper that asks "What do you think about Joe" and I give my answer, my answer is not scripted. It is no different than on BB UK when BB asks a housemate "What do you think about Joe."

Lastly, it seems perfectly obvious to me why the live feed would block out information that should only appear on the prime time show. The prime time show is the only show which counts as far as ratings go. And ratings determine a lot of monetary aspects such as advertising dollars. Why would they give all of the information away ahead of time? That makes no sense. They want people to watch it.
