I went out with one of my best friends, we're still friends now . In some ways it's the best way to date someone - be their friend first, lover second, but on the other hand, there's always that nagging question of 'I wouldn't just lose a girlfriend, I'd lose a friend too' if you broke up. Luckily for me, that only happened to a small degree and fixed itself over time.
