Ive always wanted to watch Elephant but never can find it.
Its part of a trilogy of Gus Van Sant real life films. Elephant is about the Columbine School Massacre when 2 teens who were bullied made the news by going into teh school and killing over 20 students and teachers. Its one of the most famous massacres of the US (and yes its real) which took place in 1999 (they had to delay an episode of Buffy because one episode had a storyline with Jonathan trying to kill students and himself and was to air the day after the massacre, but they delayed it a few months) Sorry random info, but i love the show. And i wanted to watch but cant find it in the shops. Its teh 2nd film of that writer, the 1st being a Matt Damon and Casey Affleck film called "Gerry" where the 2 are lost in the middle of nowhere, they are best friends but one kills another while lost (also a true story) And the 3rd film is about the death of Kurt Cobain (Nirvana's lead singer). Anyone seen any of these films?? I am sort of scared to watch "Elephant" because ive always been scared whenever i hear anything about school and college shooting as they are quite common in teh US, with this one being the biggest. |
