Default Brit Awards: Florence + the Machine, GaGa, Robbie Williams to perform [+more]

La Roux, Florence and the Machine and Lady GaGa are expected to be among the contenders for this year's Brit Awards when the nominees are revealed later.

After a breakthrough year in 2009, pop act La Roux will perform at an event to announce the nominations in London.

Florence and the Machine and Lady GaGa, meanwhile, have been lined up to sing at the award ceremony on 16 February.

But press speculation has claimed that Susan Boyle, whose debut album has been a global sensation, will be snubbed.

Organisers have announced that Florence and the Machine will team up with Dizzee Rascal for a duet at next month's ceremony at Earls Court arena, while Kasabian and JLS will also take to the stage.

Robbie Williams, who has won more Brits than any other artist, will play a selection of his hits as he collects the outstanding contribution honour.

And rising star Ellie Goulding, who topped the BBC Sound of 2010 list, will take home the Brits' Critics' Choice award.

Two categories have been scrapped this year - best live act and best international group - to make way for two new prizes to mark the 30th Brits ceremony.

The 10 best-selling albums to have won the best album prize in previous years will be in the running to be named the Brits Album of 30 Years, with the winner picked by listeners to BBC Radio 2.

The winner of the Most Memorable Brits Performance of 30 Years will be voted for by ITV and GMTV viewers.

The shortlist includes Michael Jackson's 1996 performance, where Jarvis Cocker invaded the stage, Robbie Williams' duet with Tom Jones in 1998 and Sir Paul McCartney's performance on receiving the outstanding contribution prize in 2008.
