It was worse than BB4.
BB4, simple and boring as it may be, it tried new things like the first night nominations, double eviction, housemate swap, rewards room, sending Jon back in.
It only lasted 9 weeks so was over fairly soon, and the HMs were nice people but weren't the liveliest bunch.
The house was actually nice and the logo's okay - seemed too big a deal for the 4th series when we knew there was gonna be a BB5 and 6 too though
BB8 just rehashed stale ideas like countless hidden rooms that added nothing (the caravan, that small room by the pool, the dreaded half way house). The fake week might have been the only good experiment.
It lasted thirteen and a half weeks so dragged out longer, and the HMs were quite ghastly. All female launch wasn't a hit. Ziggy as the first guy and 'heart throb' was like a slap in the face with unwanted testicles. Bringing Gerry and Seany in to further frustrate the girl HMs and viewers was yet another p*ss take. Then more guys came in, but consisted of a thick attention seeker, a billionaire bore, a moody male model and an irritating alpha male tree surgeon who did not deserve that money 5 misn after he stepped through the door. Then the final five were pure car crash TV wannabes. I still have nightmares about Jonty and his Monketty Tunkitty.
The house was just too small and square, even for viewers, and the eye was just hideous and too much
BB4 did some damage to BB's reputation so BB5 picked it up again, but after CBB5 BB8 was just complete overkill and was a big turn off. BB9 tried to undo the mess but it already lost viewers
