All the housemates are currently taking part in the ignore task, where they have to ignore any random events that occur in the house, which involve some guests entering. The new housemate could randomly enter without BB confirming that s/he is Laura's replacement, however it is up to them to convince the housemates they are. This should spark suspicion amongst the housemates and the newbie could be ignored for a while.

If they wanted to, BB could set the newbie a task where they have to convince them within a set time to win a reward, or else they get punished or something.
