I have no real favourites in the show, although there are some HMs I like less than others. No-one came out of last night looking too good, in my opinion.
Josie was right to stand up for Corin against the gang of bedroom boys, represented last night by Sam. Their obsession with Corin being fake has gone to ridiculous extremes. I guess that's what boredom in the house does to you. It was equally stupid for John James (someone who I think has behaved okay a lot of the time in the past) to accuse Josie and Corin of bullying Sam. This, followed by his insults to Rachel (who is shallow and unpleasant herself) and the subsequent crapping himself when Nathan became involved in the situation, made him look like a hypocrite as well as a bit of a tosser. Ah, Nathan! A housemate I really dislike! He is also a bully, if we let our memories do their job... Neanderthal man in 2010. Yes, he would be right to be annoyed at what John James said but I cannot hold him up as a paragon of moral conduct. And as someone else pointed out, Corin's near-gleeful account of Nathan's desire to sort out John James wasn't her best moment, although it was understandable given the events of the day. Her summing up in the Diary Room at the end of the highlights show was hard to disagree with, though. So, who do you end up supporting? Sam, for all his keeping it real, has been acting as John James' mouthpiece lately. Corin has been a victim (unfairly) but does that mean she should win? Josie...well, I guess she has stood up for what she thought was right, so maybe she is edging it at the moment. The self-appointed house-leaders, pontificating from the bedroom or bathroom, have lost any respect I might have had for them. Dave, for someone who is meant to be moral, has shown so much endorsement of bullying and been so bitchy that he has no credibility left. JJ...well, what's he there for?! I wonder if by the time Tuesday comes I will care who wins? |
