You're all forgetting the Channel 5 have confirmed their talks with Endemol, stating that talks are ongoing. All newspapers jump the gun and exaggerate, even The Guardian is guilty of this, so with their article stating that Big Brother is going to be signed within days could be exaggeration on their behalf.

Endemol are in debt, and they need Big Brother on air just as much as Desmond needs it. Even if Desmond keeps pushing the price lower, Endemol we probably hanging on his every word (unless it gets too ridiculous). Desmond stated that Big Brother was 'on his shopping list', it's just a matter of time.
